Ecology

Grows at Low elevations.

Commonly found in: Slow-moving, shallow waters, along the edges of rivers, lakes and streams.

Uses

CAUTION: Looks very similar to poison hemlock.

Food
  • Rich in vitamins A, B2, C, D, and E, and contains iodine.
  • Eaten fresh in salads.
Medicine
  • Treats canker sores and blisters in the mouth.
  • Also used for skin issues, fevers, rheumatism, asthma, bronchitis, and liver, heart, and kidney problems.
