Grows at Low to alpine elevations.

Commonly found in: Sandy, well-drained exposed sites, dry rocky slopes, dry forests and clearings.

  • Berries are eaten fresh in August.
  • Leaves were dried and smoked as tobacco substitute, or mixed with tobacco.

  • Prevention for bed-wetting, treats urinary tract infections, improves kidney functions.
